At Zaagkuilsdrift our restaurant is relaxed, welcoming, and perfectly in tune with the rest of the bush-veld experience. Nestled under shady trees (or beside the lodge courtyard/pool/hide — whatever setting you prefer), it offers a place to unwind after a morning of bird-watching or a bush-walk — or simply to catch up with family and friends over a good meal.
We serve simple, honest food made with fresh, local ingredients. Portions are generous, and prices are fair — no fussy plating or fine-dining show, just honest home-style meals that fill you up and satisfy. Our menu is flexible: if you have dietary preferences or fussy eaters in the group we’re happy to accommodate on notice.
Just like the rest of the lodge, our restaurant welcomes not only overnight guests — we’re open to day visitors too. Whoever you are, whether you’re swinging by for a quick lunch, stopping in after a bird drive, or sharing a hearty dinner before settling in for a night under the stars, you’ll always find a warm seat, a satisfying dish, and friendly company.

Our dinners are wholesome, home-style meals prepared fresh each evening for guests staying with us. The menu changes depending on what’s in season, but the focus stays the same: simple food, made well, generous portions, and a relaxed atmosphere after a day out in the bush.
